Faith & the Arts Class
Expressing your faith through painting, sculpture, photography and more
“Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.” (Jeremiah 18:6)
For centuries, Christians have expressed their faith through the arts: drawing, painting and sculpture. From Michelangelo’s sculpture of “David” and his “Hand of God” painting in the Sistine Chapel, to Leonardo Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” paintings, sculpture, stained glass windows and photography have helped connect Christians to the creative Spirit of God, the Master Artist, who created the world and humankind as recounted in Genesis and expressed His redemptive work in us through passages like Jeremiah 18:6 quoted above.
Our church offers Faith & the Arts sessions several times a year to help us express our faith creatively. Check out our church newsletter for info on upcoming Faith & the Arts sessions.
Faith & the Arts is for teens and adults of all ages. Don’t worry about your perceived skill level or lack their of. This small group isn’t about perfection or becoming the next Rembrandt. This experience is about letting Scripture and the Holy Spirit move through you in creative ways.
